China’s oil imports are increasing, while the country’s oil production has fallen. These two developments will create more geopolitical problems for Beijing energy planners, including over reliance on foreign oil from some of the word’s most troubled hot spots, including South Sudan, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Russia, Venezuela and others.
