Tuesday Sector Laggards: Energy, Services

The worst performing sector as of midday Tuesday is the Energy sector, showing a 2.1% loss. Within the sector, Denbury Resources (NYSE: DNR) and Noble Corp (NYSE: NE) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 5.4% and 4.7%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (AMEX: XLE), which is down 1.8% on the day, and down 2.97% year-to-date. Denbury Resources, meanwhile, is down 29.01% year-to-date, and Noble Corp is down 36.59% year-to-date. Combined, DNR and NE make up approximately 0.8% of the underlying holdings of XLE.
