Stock Market Haunted By Crash Of 1987 As Google And Apple Hit The Skids

On Monday, October 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost almost 23% of its value. It didn’t even lose that much in a single day during all of the financial crisis of 2008, even though the decline from the previous high was far steeper four years ago than it was 25 years ago. So here we are again in October of a year that ends in ‘7” or “2,” which are often turning points, like in 2007 and 2002. Are we in for some 1987-style trouble?
