Twenty years ago, those of us who subscribed to CompuServe hated it. While all of the various features were great ? at least, at the time, they were great ? the one thing that chapped your hide was the service?s pricing structure. There was a flat fee plus per minute charges. At 2400 bits per second, the pain was palpable. You felt you were being nickel and dimed to death. What everyone cried for was a flat monthly fee.
