People are getting overexcited about what’s happening in Spain and Italy, says Michael Spencer, chief Asia economist at Deutsche Bank, especially considering the problems there now are far less than what we had seen in the past. He believes the greater threat to the global economy over the long term is the unresolved issue of U.S. fiscal policy.
