Groupon Is The Ultimate Put On

In the on again, off again IPO derby for Groupon, you may have heard it is on again for the third or fourth try this year. Granted this hasn’t been the best year for initial public offerings but this company is one of the most peculiar I’ve seen since Fanny Hill Enterprises went public in the late 1960’s. That company had no real full time employees, was underwritten by a securities firm on Victory Blvd. in Staten Island, NY and was in the business of making porno films with names like “Fanny Hill,” “The House of Fanny Hill,” and “Fanny Hill Meets Bluebeard the Pirate.”  You couldn’t make this stuff up.
