Exclusive: Venrock Doubles Down On Healthcare IT, Hires Healthcare Reform Architect Bob Kocher

Venture capital firm Venrock is bringing on a new partner as it intensifies its pursuit of startups at the intersection of healthcare and technology. The firm has hired Bob Kocher, a general physician and one of the primary architects behind the Obama Administration’s healthcare reform bill, to lead investments in the healthcare IT space. Venrock is poaching Kocher from McKinsey, where he led the McKinsey Center for Health Reform.
