But the Lemelson Foundation, together with Ashoka, recognizes that invention and social entrepreneurship – when leveraged together – can be a powerful force to improve lives. Eight years ago, the two organizations started working together to identify the social entrepreneurs combining invention and effective business principles to grow solutions to pressing social problems—creating tools, technologies, and enterprises that have life-changing potential.
