Apple and Tesla split their shares last month. This double starburst of “alpha” added an astounding $770 Bn to the companies’ market capitalizations – equal to about 2% of the entire value of the U. S. stock market. Berkshire Hathaway and Amazon should take note. Share splits create strong alpha.
